Day 41-Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.

China represents the future of the global economy. The shear gravity of the population and the potential for development draws all eyes to the ancient cities that I have toured. Seeing China for myself built up my respect for the Chinese people. While I have only skimmed the mountain tops of this life-changing experience, I look forward to exploring the valleys for years to come. I hope that within the next 5 years I will have an opportunity to return to China.I hope in future trips I am stunned by the progress China will make in environmental protection, in transportation, and bringing prosperity to the millions of Chinese still living in poverty. I will be forever grateful to the WUST student leaders for their great accompany and Ngee Ann Polytechnic for giving me the opportunity to study at Wuhan .Thank you.The learning journey has been exciting and challenging...

Day 40-memories cherished

Hairstyle can be a classic, sophisticated, cool or a trendy, unique, and fun style, finding the perfect hairstyle that suits you individual face.....Today, it will be our last time visiting the hair salon in Wuhan.Everyone has their hair being washed and cut, hoping to be back in Singapore with a fresh and smart look.Thereafter, we have a farewell dinner with the WUST student leaders and teachers.I really treasure the time whereby we could sit together and enjoy this very last dinner.

What a surprise!

The student leaders bought a huge cake and many packets of crackers and biscuits.Thereafter, they bought us to the motel where we could let down our hair and play .I really appreciate that as it is the very last day we could spent time playing and chatting with one another.

I want to take this opportunity to say farewell to the student leaders with whom I have been associated over the past 42 days. I can’t say my stay has been long, but given the speed at which things moved, this isn’t a short time either. And in that period, I’ve been fortunate to witness the School’s tremendous growth and be part of its exciting journey.

Day 39-Shopping Mall

Today,I have economical mixed vegetable rice for dinner.I charged the food according to the weight of the foods that I choose.But,the best part is the shop offers free flow or rice and soup.
The rice is Yummy delicious probably it's because I'm too hungry.

Thereafter, I heard that Cynthia was almost being pickpocket.This was indeed worrisome.Before I came to Wuhan, my parents keep on reminding me to carry my bag at the front so as to avoid being pick-pocket.Luckily and fortunately,I am a good girl and listen to my parents.听妈妈的话 (周杰伦).We just need pay more attention to avoid the pickpockets during our stay in Wuhan. We just have to be more vigilant so as to protect yourself and our friends from any possible losses.We plays a critical role in safeguarding our security by being vigilant and reporting any suspicious acts, persons, or items.We as a whole could stay united and protect the country.

Day 38-Golden hans

Today we are suppose to meet at 10am however some of our friends drag thus we only leave at 11am.Today, we are going to 四门口and shall be the last time going out as a group.When we reach there, there is just so many foods for us to choose from. Oyster,lobster,crab, ice kachang and basically you name it, they have it.Than we when shopping around there. there is no small streets where you can bargain but more of shopping centres.

after shopping for a few hours, we decided to go to 江汉路步行街to get cynthia photo album and some of them when to exchange their jeans.we when to 江汉路步行街 through speed boat.basically china transport is everywhere.from boats,cars,illegal cars ,motor bike,vans to even trams. Today was a day where we keep eating.

Reflection:China was a surprise for me, be it food, transportation and even friends. In the past i feel that Chinese China people are rude however this trip allow me to change the opinion of mine. They are friendly after they get to know you more.The food, sometimes a similar dish can be of different taste. numb, sour, spicy,bitter,sweet.all of the above taste can be found in Wuhan.thirdly, their transport.It was really shocking to see the number of transports you can take in Wuhan.and because the number of transports i have experience all.For the local students who have spent 41days with us, i will definitely missed them.I will missed the days where we play together,fool around together,eat together and laugh together. if there is more, i will want all 14 of us to meet again.

Day 37-farewell dinner

I was looking forward to today as we are having a friendly match with the China Students. Actually sihao intend to have 5 players and another 5 substitutes. But in the end, we only ended up having 5 main players and one substitute which is me. We need to assemble at the basketball court at 10am and the match began at 10.30am. While some of my friends was practicing shooting, I looked at the local students which we will be playing against, the first thing that came to my mind was this is going to be a tough match. After first quarter, Sihao ask wenjie to take a short break and asked me to take over him.I played for the rest of the quarters and the air was very thin which make us breathe with greater difficulties.

I was telling them the position they are suppose to play. However ,when the match began, all of them was not sure where to go which i think this is due to the nervousness.

During the second quarter,Sihao sprain his ankle and was send to the hospital.And the game have to carry on thus, we just continue to play.Because we are from Ngee Ann and I told them all of us just play, regardless of the outcome.So we did hang on till the very last second even though all of us was very tired due to the thin air.

This is the guy that I find that he played very well even thought he hurt two of our players,wen jie and me.There was some scratches on the hand, Palm and leg. Afterthat , I bathe and clean my wound, I went to meet the rest of my friends and they told me that the hairstylist will be bringing us to ice skate. I thought that ice skate was whereby you wear skates and skate on ice but their ice skake was skaters with four wheels skating on a wooden platform.

As i said before, in China anything that has wheels can fetch passangers including this tram. It was all our first time taking a tram in the main road.

After that we leave at around 5 as at 5.30pm we are having a farewell dinner with the locals.

Reflection: I had great day today.I learned about perseverance and not giving up even though we lost in the friendly match today.Most significantly, I made good friendship with the China students. Playing the friendly match today instill many values and life experiences into me as a person. There are things that I can learn through these activities that I can’t learn through books and school. From my personal experience, I learned how to work in a group of people, despite differences with people in that group due to different races and ability and I learned how to be more sociable and not shy.

Day 36-Not enough money

Today I wake up at 10pm and we when to back street to have our breakfast. Than at 1pm, we when to take bus 588 to 江汉路步行街 to change money as only that bank of china allow people to change Singapore dollar into RMB.

When changing money, you will need to fill up a piece of paper,than take number tag and wait.And they inform you by calling the number out from the PA system and not flashing the number on a board.Cynthia missed her turn and lucky Jean and friends also came to change money thus we took their number and change all at one go.

After changing money, ling li suggest to go to 汉正街. So we took another bus there. Upon reaching there, we were shock as all the shops were closing. It was only 6pm.Since all the shop was close, we decided to go back to 江汉路步行街to continue to shop.We took ma mu which is like a motorcycle for a short distance of ride for 6rmb. Basicially in china, as long as the vechines has more than two wheels they can fetch poeple to their desire places.

Day 35-Visiting to new WUST

Today we gather at 9am at our classroom for our trip to the new WUST which is located at 黄家湖。It was about 1hour plus ride there. On our way there, almost everybody fall asleep. Upon reaching, we saw a whole group of students welcoming us at the main entrance. Everybody was shock to see them standing in two rows clapping and cheering. I could feel their strong hospitality. In Singapore this will never happen, unless it is to people with extreme high rank.

We were ask to draw a lot to see who was your buddy for that day and as no one wanted to go and pick the lot, I went first and I got 36.

This is the girl than sing to us. After they have performed to us it is our turn to perform to them. We sing the national day parade song with some easy dance steps. The next place to be was the school historical museum of WUST.

After the tour in the library, we when to have lunch with our buddy.

After lunch we were given free time to allow our respective buddy to bring us around the school. And the school was really very beautiful. After touring around the school , they have organised
some activities for us. like using chopstick to hold onto the ping pong ball.

We were then brought to the biology building. And inside they display real human parts.

Reflection: Being welcomed by the WUST students, I felt very excited and warm. I feel that I am not alienated and have a kind of very cozy feelings. Even though, I am abroad studying, I feel that I am not alone as I have great China friends with me.

United, determined and well prepared, we have what it takes to build a bright future for ourselves, and to progress together as one nation.

Polytechnic is all about hands on, which means that the school is already preparing us for the real industry life. Practicals which we do for each individual module are layout similar to the working life. Training us to use software which might be better than what the company is having and thus we have our own roles in the future. Everybody plays a part in the society.
I am fortunate to be a Singaporean, as everything is planned and I can see my future. When one can see their future, it means that they have confidence in their future.
